Tow safe - getting ready - video transcript

Narrator: First off, before you get towing you need to know the rules for safe boating. It's all here or you can find it with your smartphone or computer and most of the rules are pretty basic. You've got to have a current licence. Your vessel must be registered and the rego number has to be clearly visible. In NSW you must have a safety label on your vessel showing the key safety measures to be followed out on the water. It's got to be near the controls where the skipper can see it easily as a reminder. Know where to tow. Check local waterways for restrictions by looking for signage. Check out boating maps or ask locals. Also remember, even if your vessel has navigation lights it's not legal to tow someone at night.
